The Chief Minster of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has recently announced that the government will begin admission in Schools from July 1 for the new academic session.

Decision to start admission procedure in schools was taken by the CM alongwith a group of education ministers during a presentation held by the School Education Department on June 28.

However, the Chief Minister mentioned that classes for students will continue via online mode only. Since schools in state are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no physical classes will be held until further notice.

He added that the government has completed all necessary preparations to broadcast online lessons via television. This will ensure that each and every student can easily access the lessons and continue their education.

Regular evaluation of students will also be done alongwith online classes to keep a track of the learning process. Students will be communicated through WhatsApp groups on which worksheets, assignments and homeworks will be given on day-to-day basis.

On the reopening of schools, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the consideration for physical reopen of schools can only be made after a major portion of the population in state is vaccinated against COVID-19.

Still there are few speculations that the government might allow schools to reopen from the mid of July but only for students of higher classes like 10th and 12th. However the classes might be held on alternate days with 50 percent attendance.

The government has also sought responses and suggestions from students, teachers, parents and the general public over the decision of reopening of schools in current times.

While schools continue to remain closed, the colleges in MP are likely to reopen in August. A panel of minister of Education portfolio has approved the suggestions of higher education department to reopen colleges with 50 percent capacity and only for vaccinated students.
