Tripura govt to introduce ‘Super 30’ scheme for engineering, medical aspirants

Tripura government-led by BJP-IPFT has decided to introduce a new educational scheme ‘Super 30’ from the next 2020-21 academic year to fund the coaching fees of school students from Medical and Engineering backgrounds. The government has decided to finance Kota based entrance coaching centers for medical and engineering students by helping them in cracking NEET and IIT respectively.

Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, “The scheme would fund 30 students of science streams in getting Kota based coaching centers to crack engineering and medical entrances every year.”

He said, “Tripura Government emphasizes the education sector the most. The ‘Super 30’ scheme will help science students in taking coaching centers from Kota as per their preferences. The students will be selected on the merit but reservation policy in the selection of candidates will be followed.”

The scheme would be launched on a pilot basis involving 2.40 Lakh coaching fees for every student on an average per year. In the first year, they will invest 74 lakh and 1.4 crores in the following year.

The pass percentage of class 12 examinations conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) was 80.51% while the Science stream record 88.85% this year.

The Minister further added, “If provided the right opportunities our students can get an entry in the topmost engineering and medical colleges of India.”

The ‘Super 30’ program always reminds us of Mathematician Anand Kumar, on whom even a movie was made to honor his efforts to enhance the lives of 30 students of Bihar with a better education.
