Dhanush, is an Indian film actor, director, producer, writer, lyricist, screenwriter, and playback singer.He is best known for his work in Tamil movies. Dhanush rose the popularity from his popular song “Why this Kolaveri Di”, which became the first Indian video song to cross 100 million views on YouTube. Dhanush has won 3 National Film Awards and 7 Filmfare Awards.
Dhanush Bollywood debut movie “Ranjhanaa” was a blockbuster hit. Now, Dhanush wants to try his hands at directing Hindi films. The actor says that his debut film helped him to reach a wider audience and now he is all set to try his luck in the direction. On this Dhanush said, “‘Ranjhana’ and ‘Shamitabh’ really gave me a wider exposure to Hindi-speaking audience. And post that, I got to know how it works here. I’m happy that the kind of films I’m doing right now is reaching a wider audience and I’m looking forward to directing in Hindi films as well.”
While Dhanush is also gearing up for his Hollywood debut movie titled ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’ alongside Erin Moriarty, Barkhad Abdi, Berenice Bejo and Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse. He said, “I can’t ask for more. It has been a great journey from where I started to where I am today. I am really blessed and it’s just that the world has become smaller now. The exposure is much wider.” He added, “A few years ago, it was completely different. Now you go to any country, city or continent and just say ‘Bollywood’ and they will know. So, it means everybody is watching everything.”
Dhanush feels that he is fortunate to be a part of the film industry at a time when artists are getting more and more chance to experiment with their characters.
