Sushant Singh starrer Drive which recently premiered on Netflix could not live up to the expectations. The film was supposed to release in cinema halls on 7 September 2018, but was pushed to 28 June 2019, and ultimately did not see a theatrical release.

Now, it seems a similar fate is awaiting Sushant’s another film Dil Bechara that was supposed to release in the end of November this year. The release of the film has now been postponed to next year. There are apprehensions that the film might eventually end up having its premiere on some online platform.

Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying, “Dil Bechara will not release on November 29 anymore. There have been last minute changes and the team needs a little more time for the post production of the film. So they have collectively decided to shift the movie to an early 2020 date instead. The announcement will be officially made soon.”

Some earlier reports suggested the studio backing the film was looking to release the film online, just like Drive. But the source said there is no truth in such reports. “It will definitely be a theatrical release. There’s no change there. Just that they needed some more time to give it finishing touches and hence, they decided to postpone it to next year.”

Dil Bechara is a coming of age romantic comedy film directed by Mukesh Chhabra and produced by Fox Star Studios. It is based on author John Green’s 2012 novel “The Fault in Our Stars”, which was also adapted in film as The Fault in Our Stars (2014). The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput and debutante Sanjana Sanghi in the lead roles, and features music composed by A. R. Rahman.
