A movie based on ‘Downton Abbey’ TV series which aired on ITV in the UK will release September 20, 2019. The teaser of the same is out but ironically no character has been introduced in it.

The video shows the iconic castles of the Crawleys. The story of the fictional Crawley family and their servants living Yorkshire Country estate will continue. The movie will pick up two years after, events ended with the series in 2015.

The synopsis reads, “The television series Downton Abbey followed the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who worked for them at the turn of the 20th century in an Edwardian English country house. Over its 6 seasons, the series garnered 3 Golden Globe Awards, 15 Primetime Emmy Awards, 69 Emmy nominations in total, making Downton Abbey the most nominated non-US television show in the history of the Emmys – even earning a Special BAFTA award and a Guinness World Record for the highest critically rated TV show along the way.”

It even won several awards like Golden Globe Award for Best Miniseries or Television Film and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries or Movie.

It featured Hugh Bonneville as Robert Crawley, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt, and Maggie Smith.

One of the producers, Gareth Neame, said, “It’s a return to these really beloved characters and seeing them in new sets of circumstances and how they will deal with those, and hopefully, a good mix of the drama, comedy, and romance that had been the mainstays of it all.”
