Malala’s story is not unknown to the world, she continues to inspire people with her courage to make a difference. She is a Pakistani activist and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. We have read her story, but we will see her story come live in “Gul Makai”-Gul Makai’ accounts the courageous journey and struggle of Nobel laureate Malala Yousufzai, from her humble upbringing in the Swat Valley to her becoming the champion for free education to all. The first look of the movie is released on 12th July which coincides with Malala’s birthday.
Divya Dutta, who is one cast members of the movie, said, “When Amjad narrated the script to me, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this project. Films like these are few and far between and I am excited about it.” Malala’s character will be portrayed by Reem Sameer Shaikh. Director Amjed Khan explained the title of the movie “I named it “Gul Makai”, because that was the pen name Malala used while reporting on the conditions that prevailed in her native place. My film is a tribute to this young girl, who is out to make a difference.”
