If you still can’t get over Madhuri Dixit moving to the beats of ek do teen in the movie Tezaab, it’s probably time to get ready for a new Mohini to woo you all over again.
The makers of Baaghi 2 are going to recreate the popular song, only this time it will be Jacqueline Fernandez who will take the place of Madhuri Dixit. The song would be a collaboration of 3 ace choreographers of our industry- Ahmed Khan, Ganesh Acharya and Saroj Khan.
Saroj Khan, the veteran choreographer was the one who choreographed the original song and gave us the hook step that we haven’t had enough of even after all these years. Ahmed Khan, who is also directing the movie said that, “There will be three choreographers on the set… That’s a picture perfect moment in itself! It’s an all-time favourite and I have asked Ganesh to retain Saroj ji’s famous hook steps and Manish Malhotra to keep Madhuri Dixit’s pink outfit in mind while designing while designing Jacqueline’s costume.”
Ahmed, who clearly wants the mood of the original song to remain intact in its new rendition stated that, “I want the same feel of the earlier song that still looms large on everyone’s mind and also the same vibe, with the crowds chanting ‘Mohini, Mohini’ as Madhuri takes the stage.” About Jacqueline Ahmed gave a confident response: “She’s the perfect choice.”
It won’t be easy for Jackie to recreate Madhuri’s magic and match up with her skills but the actress herself has some powerful dance numbers like chittiyan kalaiyyan and jumme ki raat to her credit so we’re sure the wait is going to be worth its while.
Baaghi 2 which is going to release on March 30th this year will star Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani in lead roles.
