A still from Glass

When it comes to superhero films, the franchises which come to our mind are Marvel or DC as they are renowned all across the globe. The series of stories these franchises have created have a great impact on the audience and they eagerly wait for the next part. The loyalty of fans towards Marvel or DC has made them worldwide popular and there’s no doubt that they come up with unique stories adapted from their universe of comics. But what if I say there’s one more parallel universe of superheroes which feels more relatable and does not seem to be very unreal.

Yes, the one created by M Night Shyamalan. Well, today we will be introducing you to this trilogy which is indirectly a homage paid by the director to the superheroes of comics. All these stories are entertaining and very engaging too. So let’s get to the list directly.

Check it out:

Unbreakable

A still from Unbreakable

A typical superhero synopsis goes as the normal world is no more normal, some cruel villains have taken over the city and then arrives at the superhero. But Shyamalan’s Unbreakable breaks this typical sense and takes us into quite a real world. The protagonist here is a common man who faces challenges every day and struggles to keep his family intact. Without giving any spoilers here, I would say the film has no action as you expect in a normal superhero film. This film primarily begins with a man realizing his self worth and the superhero angle comes in the midst of the movie and the film becomes epic to viewers at its suspenseful climax. Unbreakable is the first one of this trilogy, to begin with.

Split

A still from Split

Post 16 years, comes Split which is not a continuation of the first story, let me clear it first. The film connects it at the very end, which is quite refreshing in itself. The film follows the story of a man. The film follows the story of a man who has 24 different personalities who kidnaps three teenage girls and isolates them. It is known as the first supervillain origin movie which makes it quite interesting and gives viewers a clear idea that Shyamalan is up to a job of creating a whole new universe altogether. This one follows a simple narrative but definitely keeps you glued to the story.

Glass

A still from Glass

Shyamalan teams up all his superheroes and supervillains in this last part of the trilogy. This one too rejects the typical concept of a superhero film and is grounded with a much more real world. Marked as a comic book thriller, this film has a hidden meaning altogether which you will get once you watch the whole trilogy and especially the last one i.e Glass. Both Mr. Unbreakable and Mr. Beast confront each other and Mr. Glass has a perfect conclusion for this series. Don’t miss out on watching the concluding part of this trilogy.

So that was the list. We hope you will love it. Share your views and stay tuned to The Indian Wire for more such articles.
