The makers of the upcoming film Mardaani 2 have finally released the trailer of the film today. Rani Mukerji is back in full action as tough and brave cop Shivani Roy.

The trailer gives just the right amount of peep into the film. From the trailer, the film seems to be set in Kota, Rajasthan where thousands of young aspirants go to for entrance exams preparations. A man starts kidnapping young girls and after brutally raping them he kills the girls in the most horrible way. The film is about Shivani Roy catching him while he consistently eludes her. Interestingly, the makers have not disclosed the face of the villain.

The makers shared the trailer on the official Twitter account on Yash Raj Films. The post read, “She’s back. She’s unstoppable. She is Shivani Shivaji Roy. The chase begins again. #Mardaani2Trailer OUT NOW. #RaniMukerji #GopiPuthran  @Mardaani2 #SheWontStop”

Mardaani released in 2014 was a major box office and critical success. The film got rave reviews and brought Rani Mukerji wide acclaim for her performance as Senior Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy.

Another USP of Mardaani was its villain played by Tahir Raj Bhasin who played the part with utmost sincerity and made the evils of Walt aka Karan Rastogi believable. Going with the buzz around the villain, the makers have not revealed the face of the antagonist in the second installment. It has been reported that the villain’s role has been played by Vikram Singh Chauhan.

The film also features Shruti Bapna, Rajesh Sharma, Rohit Sukhwani, Sudhanshu Pandey.

While the first installment was directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the second installment has been helmed by Gopi Puthran.

Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, the film is slated to release on 13 December where it will be clashing with Emraan Hashmi’s The Body.
