One of the biggest films of Mohanlal‘s career is getting a sequel. We already informed you that, his hit film Drishyam’s sequel is going to come out. That film’s shooting has now commenced. On Monday, Mohanlal shared this, with photos from the Mahurat Pooja, on his Twitter account.

In a report from DNA, it revealed that the film was to start shooting from 17 August. Due to some unavoidable circumstances, the plan got delayed. On the other hand, Mohanlal will join the film’s crew, on 26 September.

Another report, this time from India Today, informed that the cast and crew have been asked to take COVID-19 tests, post shoots. Also, they are asked to follow government protocols. Actors shooting for the film will have to complete their schedule before they travel elsewhere. The most probable places for shooting the film are, Kochi and Thodupuzha.

To announce Drishyam 2: The Resumption, Mohanlal had earlier shared a short clip on his 60th birthday, on May 21, earlier this year. It revealed the title of the film and a short look at his character from the film.

The film will take place seven years after the events of the first film. Drishyam was a film about a father, who goes to great lengths to protect his family after his elder daughter and wife commit a murder.

Upon release, the film had become an instant blockbuster in Malayalam cinema. Remakes were made in several languages, with the Tamil remake starring Kamal Hassan, and the Hindi remake starring Ajay Devgn.

Making the sequel is the director, Jeetu Joseph, who also helmed the original film. With the sequel, he would try to create a more refined film and exceed expectations compared to the original film.
