‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ made headlines last year, becoming one of the quickest movie trailers to cross one million views on Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter in less than 2 hours of its launch. ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, a multi-lingual biopic on the brilliant Isro scientist, Nambi Narayanan. India’s space story wouldn’t have been the same without the VIKAS engine he designed to launch rockets with a 100 percent success rate. But Nambi was also the scientist who was framed as a spy, incarcerated, tortured and finally released by a vigilante justice system. This film also marks the directional debut of R Madhavan, who joined Ananth Mahadevan in directing the ambitious trilingual.

According to the reports, Ananth had to step off the project because of his prior pressing commitments. ‘Rocketry’ has been a passion project for R Madhavan, who also essays the role of Protagonist in the film. Sources revealed that with a talented cast and crew, the movie is ahead of schedule with major portion shot in all three languages (Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu).

When contacted Madhavan about the same, he said, “Ananth Mahadevan is an extremely talented filmmaker, however, owing to unavoidable circumstances and certain pressing commitments he could no longer direct Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.” He further added, “Rocketry is close to my heart for many reasons. The film is shaping up well and I can’t wait to tell the incredible story of Mr. Nambi Narayanan to the world.”
