After the overwhelming success of his last directorial Sanju, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has been approached for another biopic by the giant Fox Star Studios. While Sanju was based on the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, the film offered is a sports biographical drama based on the life of a legendary cricketer.

Film trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared the information on his verified Twitter account. He also revealed that besides the biopic, the PK director has also been offered to direct another cricket-based film that has been penned down by his co-writer Abhijat Joshi. Hirani and Joshi have worked together in the past on numerous films such as Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju.

A report by news agency ANI suggests that the biopic is based on the life of Indian cricket legend Lala Amarnath who was the first batsman ever to score a century for India in Test cricket. He was independent India’s first cricket captain and captained India in the first Test series win against Pakistan in 1952. The film is reportedly written by Piyush Gupta and Neeraj Singh.

Meanwhile, Hirani is also working on a web series. While the fans were eager to watch a Hirani’s film as the director did not take up any project after Sanju released year, it seems they will have a treat as he has his hands full now. It yet to be seen which project goes on the floors first.
