Kerala is witnessing heavy rainfall from the last few days which has lead to floods in many parts of the state which has left the entire nation shocked by the situation in Kerala. With each passing day, floods in Kerala have been getting worse. As reported by Times of India, the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan said that at least 164 people lost their lives due to the floods. He shared that around 2,23,000 people are taken to 1,568 relief camps so far. The government and the people are trying their best to support the state.

Many celebrities have come forward to help the people affected by the Kerala floods. Indian sound mixer and designer Resul Pookutty who had won the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for Slumdog Millionaire took to Twitter recently to share his gratitude towards SRK for helping the people of Kerala.

A recent report by ANI suggested that 1300 life jackets, 571 lifebuoys, 1000 raincoats, 1300 gumboots, 1200 ready-to-eat meal, 1500 food packets, 25 motorized boats, 9 non-motorised boats provided by the Defence Ministry for rescue and relief operations in Kerala.

Southern Railway dispatched 7 BRN wagons with syntax tank carrying 2.8 lakh litre drinking water from Tamil Nadu’s Erode at 4 pm. 15 BRN flat wagons with Syntax water tanks being moved from Chennai to Erode. Water will be dispatched to the Government of Kerala.

PM Modi, after chairing a review meeting and conducting an aerial survey, announced an additional relief of Rs 500 crore for the state.
