Shraddha Kapoor has been preparing to portray Saina Nehwal’s character in the upcoming film documenting her life for about two months now. Shraddha has been taking badminton lessons under the head coach of the official Indian badminton team Pullela Gopichand for over a month now. In the beginning, doubts of Shraddha being able to learn the sport well enough to play the character of the veteran badminton player herself had crept up all over the social networking sites. Even after training for many hours a day, Shraddha Kapoor was seen to be having trouble grasping the game and moulding it her way. The public expectations on the latest Amol Gupte film kept declining.
This was before the Olympic bronze medallist herself expressed her confidence towards Shraddha portraying her life in her latest biopic. During the felicitation ceremony for the Commonwealth Games, which took place in Gold Coast, Australia, Saina Nehwal stood on the sidelines as the Badminton Association of India gave out the felicitations and gave a statement where she rested her full trust and hopes on the young actress. Saina expresses her eagerness to watch the sessions of her games once the filming for the movie begins.
Nehwal elaborated that she understood how tough the entire course appears to Shraddha, as an actor working on a movie pretending to be an athlete can be “different and challenging”.
Saina Nehwal recognized the hard work Shraddha exerts each day to learn the sport well, and expects that with the amount of effort Shraddha Kapoor is putting in her role, the result is bound to be satisfactory.
