Shamata Anchan, winner of Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2012 Pageant, is once again making it to headlines. Hailing from Mangalore in Karnataka, Samata has been modeling for years. She is widely known for her famous character, where she played the lead in hindi TV Show Everest. The show was produced by renowned filmmaker, Ashutosh Gowarikar. In the show, she had played the role of Anjali Singh Rawat. Other leads in the show had Rohan Gandotra and Sahil Salathia. She has also done a cameo role in Heartbeats, an upcoming hollywood film.
Now, Shamata is making her Bollywood debut opposite Abhay Deol in the Canadian film, “The Field“, where she will play his wife. On this Actress said,”I was shooting for a TV show, ‘Bin Kuch Kahe’, in Jaipur when I got a call for this international Hindi-English bilingual. We shot the film in Mumbai and Delhi and wrapped up the film in 30 days. It’s based on the capital’s land mafia with Abhay playing a cop. I didn’t have to think twice about agreeing to star opposite Abhay in my first feature”
