August 5 was a forgetful day for singer SP Balasubrahmanyam. Why? Well if you remember he had tested positive for COVID-19 on that day. It has been a week now and fresh reports have arrived regarding his health. According to the director of MGM Healthcare, the singer is stable now. His oxygen saturation is also normal.

The director’s statement read :

”SP Balasubrahmanyam, who is admitted at MGM Healthcare for mild symptoms of COVID, continues to be stable and is maintaining normal oxygen saturation.”

When the singer contracted the virus on August 5, he shared the news with his fans via a video on Facebook. Through the video, he informed how he was having mild symptoms such as chest congestion, cold, and fever.

Further in the video, he informed his fans and well-wishers not to worry about him as he is under safe hands. He also emphasized on the point of not calling him, saying:

“I have come here mostly to take rest so there won’t be any disturbance to me and to take medication. Don’t bother calling me. I am fine, I will be fine”.

Earlier in June, the singer had posted a song on Facebook which he created to pay tribute to those who lost their lives due to COVID-19.

The 74-year-old singer has won six National Film Awards For Best Male Playback Singer. He has sung songs in four different languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. The government of India has also awarded him with Padma Sri (2001) and Padma Bhushan (2011) civilian awards.

It is always great to see someone recovering from any illnesses they’ve been fighting. We hope that the singer recovers soon and gets discharged from the hospital.
