British actor John Boyega recently revealed that he was the reason behind the leak of the script of his upcoming film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. He told the US television show Good Morning America that a room cleaner had found the script under his bed and put it for auction on eBay. The actor admitted that he kept it there and forgot about it.

Boyega played the role of stormtrooper Finn who turns into a resistance fighter in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He will be reprising the role in the upcoming installment.

“I was moving apartments and I left the script under my bed. I was just like, you know what, I’ll leave it under my bed,” Boyega explained. “When I wake up in the morning I’ll take it and move, but my boys came over and, you know, we started partying a little bit and then the script  just stayed there.”

A week later, he found that the script was being sold on eBay for just 65 pounds. “So the person didn’t know the true value,” he said.

Director J.J. Abrams had clarified earlier that the film’s team spotted the eBay listing and they were able to get the script back before it was sold.

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalkers is the third installment in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and will release worldwide on 20 December this year.
