Ranveer Singh is all ready to start the shooting of much-anticipated sports drama ’83, with an amazing star cast of talented actors being roped in to play the legendary cricketers who won the first World Cup for India. Recently the makers of the film revealed that Punjabi actor Ammy Virk has been roped in to play the role of Balwinder Singh Sandhu.
Now, the latest news is that Tamil actor Jiiva has joined the star cast of ’83. According to the reports Jiiva has been roped in to play cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth and is very excited to essay the role. While confirming the news, producer of ’83 Madhu Mantena, stated, “I have been a huge fan of Jiiva since the time I saw one of my favorite films with him called ‘KO’. I have always wanted to remake it here in Hindi. It’s awesome that finally, I am getting a chance to work with him. I can’t think of anyone better to be able to do justice in playing Srikkanth on the big screen.”

Jiiva is a cricket buff, has played several cricket matches and has been in the winning teams as well. The Tamil actor will make his Bollywood debut with this film. The star cast will soon start shooting for ’83.
The film will be released next year on April 10, 2020, during the Good Friday weekend.
