Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike‘ continues to have a strong hold at the box office in its fourth week, the film will create history as it will be the first mid-range film to cross the ₹200 crore mark.

Bollywood trade analyst, Taran Aadarsh tweeted,  “Uri: The Surgical Strike’ will emerge as the first mid-range film to cross ₹200 crore mark today (Day 28). (Week 4) Fri 3.44 crore, Sat 6.61 crore, Sun 8.87 crore, Mon 2.85 crore, Tues 2.62 crore, Wed ₹2.38 crore. Total:  ₹197.88 crore (India business).”

2019’s first blockbuster ‘Uri’ is inching closer to the 300 crore mark. According to the Box Office India, the film’s 28-day business is better than some of the last year’s big films like ‘2.0’ (Hindi), ‘Baaghi 2’ and ‘Thugs of Hindostan’.

The film has done a huge business overseas as films made around Kashmir or Pakistan issue tend to be a no show for the huge Muslim audience overseas. But the film had managed to collect ₹273 crores worldwide.

Aditya Dhar directorial has been financed by Ronnie Screwvala and it stars Vicky KaushalYami GautamMohit RainaParesh Rawal, and Kirti Kulhari.

The film is based on the surgical strike carried out on September 29, 2016, by the Indian Army in answer to the Uri terror attack which killed 19 unarmed army men. The strike destroyed several terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control and killed around 50 terrorists.
