West Bengal sculptor Sushanto Roy creates wax statue of Sushant Singh Rajput

It took one and a half month for Sushanto Roy, to complete his wax statue. Though it involved time and effort, the outcome is worthy of them. So who’s statue did he create? The late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput is the man, whose statue, the man from West Bengal has created. The 64-year-old, wax artist is the state’s first such artist, who has a studio in West Burdwan district.

Sushant’s statue created by Sushanto is marvelous and at first, sight looks exactly like the actor did.

This is not the first time that the artist has created a statue of a famous personality. Other famous people, whose statues he has created are, Amitabh Bachchan, Diego Maradona, and Marxist patriarch, Jyoti Basu.

He created a wax statue of the former president, Pranab Mukherjee, which has a place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Talking to PTI on Saturday, he said :

“I sculpt the statues of personalities with whom I feel emotionally attached in some way or the other. Whose life and works inspire me. Be it Amitabh Bachchan, Jyoti Basu, Pranab Mukherjee, or Maradona.”

The reason why he sculpted a statue of Sushant was asked, to which he replied,

“The wax statue of Sushant was also made for the same reason, though I regret that I will never be able to show it to the actor, whose struggle in acting career should be an inspiration to all aspiring actors.”
