Chinese  fashion, beauty and lifestyle e-commerce store Club Factory stands by Indian laws and Union Government’s proposed plans to stop shipments to India labelled as “gifts” from foreign companies and voiced to operate according to the marketplace model.

Some Chinese e-commerce companies were reportedly sending low quality products directly to Indian customers to evade customs duty.

Speaking of the same to Economic Times, Club Factory’s founder Vincent Lou stated that the brand maintains Indian policy and all orders are fulfilled only by local sellers, among which 70% are small and medium sized businesses.

Lou further added, “We think the Indian government is looking to protect the rights of sellers and buyers and build a healthy e-commerce ecosystem via the new policy. We are completely aligned with this policy and believe in facilitating a level playing field which will only benefit the industry in the long term.”

The Chinese retail is also planning to invest a certain amount in the Indian market to escalate its growth and reach out to the masses.

“We are looking to make significant investments in warehousing, delivery, technology and marketing to strengthen our presence further by scaling up operations in an endeavor to further connect with masses across the country,” the founder concluded.
