Sony has launched Sony Xperia Ace 2 in Japan. Sony launched a smartphone in the Xperia Ace lineup after two years. The first generation Xperia Ace was launched in May 2019. The latest offering from Sony is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 processor and features a dual-camera setup at the rear.

Sony Xperia Ace 2 Specifications

Xperia Ace 2 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, coupled with PowerVR GE8320 GPU clocked at 680MHz. The processor is backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage on the device can be further expanded via a microSD card up to 1TB. The smartphone runs on Android 11 OS.

Coming to the display, the device features a 5.5-inch HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1,496 pixels and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The display has an aspect ratio of 21:9. It also carries a waterdrop-style notch for the front camera.

As for the cameras, the phone comes with a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Upfront, an 8MP sensor is placed under the notch for selfies and video conferencing.

The mobile phone carries a 4,500mAh battery. It ships with IP68-rating for dust and water resistance and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embossed upon the power button. Connectivity options like 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging are offered. It weighs 159 grams.

Sony Xperia Ace 2 Price

Xperia Ace 2 will be available in three color options- Black, Blue, and White. It costs JPY 22,000 (Rs. 14,800) for the sole 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The international availability of the smartphone is yet to be disclosed by the firm.

Considering the price range, it will rival Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, which is powered by Snapdragon 678 SoC and features a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED panel, a 48MP quad-camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging, priced at Rs. 14,499 for the 6GB RAM variant.
