Xiaomi Redmi 6A has been subjected to a price cut on Amazon India. The 2GB/32GB variant of the device is now available at a discounted price of ₹6,499. Earlier, the device was listed on Amazon at a price of ₹7,999. This means Xiaomi has cut off ₹1,500 off its Redmi 6A on Amazon. Notably, the price of the base variant of the device was also slashed in December 2018. The base 2GB/16GB variant of the device can be purchased at ₹5,999.
The Redmi 6A was launched in 2018 at an event in Beijing, China. The device was launched with MIUI 9 on top of Android Oreo 8.1 out-of-the-box. The smartphone is powered by 12nm MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the device is available in two variants: 16GB and 32GB, which is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. It features a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels along with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 295ppi pixel density. The device is backed up by a 3000mAh battery.
On the camera front, the Redmi 6A comes with a single 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF at the back. For selfies and video calling, the device has a 5-megapixel camera sensor at the front. In terms of connectivity, the handset has 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (only 2.4GHz), GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, digital compass, ambient light as well as a proximity sensor.
The Redmi 6A comes in Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Blue color options.
Xiaomi is also expected to launch its Redmi Note 7 with glass sandwich design and 48-megapixel primary sensor in India on February 28.
The device will be a Flipkart exclusive and is expected to be priced at ₹10,500 for the 3GB/32GB variant.
The Redmi Note 7 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 coupled with 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB of RAM, depending on the variant. The camera module at the back of device compromises of two sensors: a 48-megapixel with f/1.8 aperture coupled with a 5-megapixel for depth information. the front camera is a 13-megapixel sensor with AI features and portrait mode.
