Cambodian local authorities have ordered temporary closure of all casinos due to spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.

Donaco International Limited’s Star Vegas announced the temporary closure starting April 27, 2021 until further notice.

As per Gambling Insider, “Seeing the outbreak, the provincial administration decided to suspend all casinos in Poipet town,” said provincial administration director and spokesman Chhoeun Kraiyong. “We wouldn’t have closed them if it wasn’t related.” The casino where the cases were detected was not named.

The administration emphasized that it is its responsibility to keep safe the citizens, doctors and employees alike.
