Former Ranjhi player held for betting as IPL 2020 wraps up

Versova police arrested Robin Morris, former Ranji player for allegedly betting on IPL 2020 matches.

Morris is known to be a class player who has played for Mumbai and Odisha. Canada-born Indian Morris, 44, had been an active player from 1995 to 2007.

On receiving information, police raided Morris’ residence at Yari Road in Versova and arrested three persons including Morris for betting.

He was earlier accused of match fixing by Al Jazeera in 2019.

Police also seized laptops and cell-phones from the flat and has framed charges under Public Gambling Act and Indian Penal Code.
