2 people in Hyderabad have been arrested for being involved in an online betting racket amidst IPL 2020.
The North Zone task force of Hyderabad Police busted the gambling racket and held the duo for operating the online betting racket under an organizer based in Rajasthan.
The accused were identified as Polapally Shiva Kumar and Daddojwala Naveen Kumar, both sub-organizers from Mettuguga, as reported by Times of India (September 28, 2020).
The men were found accepting bets from the punters over phone calls for their main organizer based in Rajasthan.
Police seized Rupees 20,000 and recovered two mobile phones from the possession of the arrestees. They have also been booked under TS Gaming Act.
The cricket betting racket was being operated from New Mettuguda in Chilkalguda.
