The Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) has banned professional tennis player Enrique Lopez Perez for eight years for the offence of match-fixing.

After an inquiry conducted by anti-corruption hearing officer Richard McLaren, Perez was found guilty of breaching Tennis Anti-corruption Programme (TACP) rules on three occasions in the year 2017.

Spanish star who rose to career high ranking of 154 in August 2018 has been banned from playing or attending professional tennis matches for 8 years along with a $25,000 fine.

Lately, TIU is dealing strictly with these breaches as we saw professional Bulgarian player Aleksandrina Naydenova getting banned last month.
