InnerSloth, who is the developer of the famous online multiplayer social deduction game Among Us has officially announced the arrival of a new map. ‘The Airship’ will be available to players sometime in 2021 and was announced at this year’s Game Awards where it won the award for the best multiplayer title of the year.
This will be the fourth map added to the game and will also introduce new tasks and skins, the ability to decide where players start a match and addition of ladders and elevators for accessing particular areas of the ship. Its being expected that the map will be far more extensive than the existing ones. Also, the game most recently received an update which introduced some new features which includes the ability to vote anonymously.
Addition of a new map will freshen up the game for later periods of engagement from its audience. Most of the draw of this game is from its social engineering aspects. But having a coat of fresh paint every now and then will keep many users satisfied.
Among Was was officially launched in the year 2018 but gained popularity in 2020. One major reason for that was the Covid-19 pandemic because it allowed for friends and families to socialize despite social distancing. The game is available at both Android as well as iOS and Windows PC. The game can be played with four to ten players out of which one to three players are chosen to be the Impostors and the others remain Crewmates. Crewmates have to perform tasks in the form of minigames that includes maintenance work like electrical rewiring, engine refueling and so on.
Impostors are also given tasks but their main objective is to work with other Impostors to kill Crewmates and destroy vital systems. Along with completing the tasks, Crewamates have to identify the Impostors and eliminate them. This can be done by calling an emergency meeting or when a dead body is reported after which every player has to vote to cast out a player. Crewmates win if all Impostors are eliminated and all tasks are completed and Impostors win if the number of Impostors id equal to the number of Crewmates and if a critical sabotage goes unresolved.
