eUnited win the Call of Duty World League Championship 2019

Two of the most popular Call of Duty teams, eUnited and 100 Thieves met on Friday in the Call of Duty World League Championship 2019 Finals to battle for a prize pool on $2 million. The tournament began with 32 teams divided into 8 pools of four teams each. The top two teams from each group advanced to the double-elimination knockout stage, which comprised best-of-five matches from Friday through Sunday’s final. eUnited won the tournament be registring a for a 3-2 victory over 100 Thieves on Sunday and claimed the Call of Duty World League Championship title along with prize money of $800,000 in Los Angeles.

eUnited which was led by the tournament MVP Chris “Simp” Lehr, with  James “Clayster” Eubanks, Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson, Preston “Prestinni” Sanderson and Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris showed perfect chemistry once again just like the CWL Pro League Finals in Miami last month, thereby winning back-to-back championship titles.

100 Thieves started off with a loss in the first round, meaning which they had to win six lower-bracket matches to qualify for the final, further including three matches earlier Sunday. They responded like champions by beating Team Reciprocity 3-1 to open the day and then swept Enigma6 Group and OpTic Gaming back-to-back to finally reach the matchup with eUnited. 100 Thieves dominated OpTic Gaming, defeating them 3-0 to face eUnited in the Grand Final. Seaside Hardpoint was the first map and despite overturning OpTic in a dominant display, they gave up against eUnited, only managing 126 points to eU’s 250.

Simp showed everyone why he is the champ and was named the Most Valuable Player as he pulled off an impressive 1.35 K/D on Hardpoint, 1.76 K/D on S&D, and 1.20 K/D on Control.
