Microsoft Xbox cloud gaming will be launched successfully in 22 nations at a surprisingly low price.

On Tuesday, Microsoft will launch an Xbox cloud gaming service. Users don’t need to buy the Xbox and stuff to enjoy high-end games now. All you need is an android device and a controller.(Minimum requirements). This will be possible due to cloud technology.

If we talk about the pricing, The cloud gaming service priced at $1 for new users’ first month, in a major drive to attract casual gamers. Casual gamers in the sense who don’t plug in the headphones and sit straight for hours in order to finish the game.

This is different than the Xbox Game Pass which Microsoft is providing at the moment. That thing is not a cloud gaming service. Cloud gaming service requires only a high-speed internet from your side. The rest of all the stuff will be managed by the service provider.

“We built this experience so that it requires as little bandwidth as possible,” said Kareem Choudhry, Microsoft’s head of cloud gaming. “We’re also working with ISPs (internet service providers) around the world to ensure a strong connection between gamers and our Azure datacenters.”

Cloud gaming has been rising at a linear rate, to be honest. Google has its own cloud gaming platform called Stadia. Not everyone knows about it. We have not yet got a cloud gaming service that has literally swept the market. Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass already has 10 million subscribers. They will enjoy the cloud gaming service included in their game pass obviously.

Is it the Future?

The cloud gaming revenue is expected to grow to $4.8 billion by 2023 from nearly $600 million this year, according to Guilherme Fernandes, an analyst at gaming analysis firm Newzoo.

This is a step by Microsoft to put Sony behind in the race right from the start. With the launch of a new console, a race begins between these two. The next-gen consoles by Microsoft and Sony will hit the market soon.

Sony does have a cloud gaming service that can be accessed through the PS Now subscription plan. But Microsoft has an edge because they have support for Android devices too. Microsoft’s service won’t be available on Apple devices though.

Well, it sounds exciting right?. No need to buy the 300 or 400 dollars PS or Xbox and enjoy high-end cloud gaming on your android or PC. But you require a really really fast internet to seamlessly enjoy cloud gaming. That is one of the most important regions where this tech has to improve. You will clearly see lag or delay between input and execution of a function in cloud gaming.

Maybe with the upcoming 5G network, we will be able to solve this issue. If yes then surely cloud gaming will be the gaming way of the future. Even buying single games will runout of fashion soon as all the giants are slowly moving in towards subscription-based gaming service.
