steam remote play together

Cloud-gaming is taking over the gaming industry by a storm. With Google Stadia all set to launch and xCloud in its beta phase currently, cloud-gaming is almost here. All the major players including Nvidia are all in on cloud gaming and now, Valve is also looking to make a way into cloud gaming with Steam Cloud Gaming.

The reference to a ‘Steam Cloud Gaming’ service was highlighted on Twitter by Steam Database, which hints at its origin via a JavaScript code buried on the company’s Steamworks Partner site.

Launched in 2003, the Steam store offers over 30,000 computer games. In the recent past, Steam has seen many new updates on its Store alongside the addition of new features. Back in September, Valve added a new update to Steam focussing towards its recommendation feed to be more precise and diverse while suggesting titles, by making algorithmic changes and bug fixes. Then earlier this month, Valve announced that Steam is all set with a new update which will let you play local-only multiplayer games with friends online, which went live for beta testers just a few days ago. The new feature is dubbed as ‘Remote Play Together’. Following its September announcement, Steam’s redesigned library is now available to everyone.

But entering the cloud gaming will be a whole new thing for the company and it would need the support of one of the major cloud players if it really wishes to compete with Google Stadia. However, these are rumours for now and we can only know the truth once an official announcement has been given by the company.
