Right now, if you visit iCloud.com website, you have to enter your Apple ID credentials manually in order to sign in. But Now, Apple is reportedly running betas test for the upcoming iOS 13, macOS Cataline and iPadOS. Besides various other features that are coming to the new operating systems, Apple seems to be testing iCloud sign-in using Face ID and Touch ID for iPhones, MacBooks, and iPads.

When you will be visiting iCloud.com on a device that are running the betas, you will be automatically be redirected to beta.icloud.com. If you aren’t redirected, you can even manually enter the URL in your address bar to try out this new feature. Either way, you must be running iOS 13, iPadOS 13, or macOS Catalina to use the new sign-in feature. Moreover, it also doesn’t require two-factor confirmation.

This feature is another example of the big changes rolling out for Apple customers. As 9to5Mac also points out, “This feature in particular is likely tied to Sign in with Apple, which is essentially Apple’s version of a password manager.”

However, it is still not certain as to when this iCloud update will be going live, its dependence on this year’s round of OS updates suggests that it’ll be available around September. They could be more helpful than you think whenever they arrive. While Face ID and Touch ID are meant more for convenience than absolute security, they could reduce the chances of intruders grabbing your login details through keyloggers and similar snooping tools.
