After a major setback in three Hindi Heartland states, Bhartiya Janata Party Chief Amit Shah will chair a meeting on  Thursday in New Delhi to introspect the results of assembly elections and to discuss the further strategies for the upcoming General Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

The Meeting which expected to start at 2 pm will continue for seven hours will be attended by BJP state chiefs and in-charges of the Party.

A BJP State functionary familiar with the development told that ‘Shah will seek feedback about the ground situation in other states, and each state unit has been asked to give a report on organizational activities, political challenges, and future programmes’.

Indian National Congress on Tuesday registered overwhelming victories in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, one of the strongholds of the saffron brigade for years.

In a photo finish in Madhya Pradesh, Congress emerged as a single largest party with 114 seats, BJP with 109 seats while ‘others’ bag 7 seats in their kitty, expected to back Congress and would help the former to make a government in the state after 15 years.

Congress emerged as the largest party in Rajasthan with 99 seats, one short of a majority. It’s ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) won one seat for a total of 100 seats — the required number to form a government in Rajasthan. The BJP got 73 seats. In the meanwhile, BSP Supremo Mayawati extends its support to the Congress in both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

And In Chhattisgarh, Congress outnumbered BJP totally and won two-third seats in 90 seat assembly.
