Last few months, there have been a lot of media reports covering the suspicious suicides of kids (mostly students). A lot of them were complete suspicious, whereas, in some cases, there was a suicide note left by the deceased. The suicide note in a majority of the cases hinted towards a game called Blue Whale Challenge and that is when authorities started to notice the upcoming impact of the creation of a psychopath.

According to analysts, Blue whale is a game that has been designed by a Russian man named Philipp Budeikin aged 21 years. According to Philipp, the victims are just “Biological waste” and they were happy to die. According to him, he was cleansing the society by removing the biological waste.

The master mind behind the suicide game Blue whale: Philipp Budeikin

The game started in Russia and consumed 16 girls life (officially known), which later became an over-night sensation over the internet. Luckily, the culprit is now behind the bars, however, this hasn’t stopped the tragedy caused by the sick game, as there are moderators (called death-groups) who are in active search for the vulnerable people (mostly college going students) with lots of insecurities.

When Philipp was interviewed in the jail by asking did you push them to death? He said

“Yes. I truly was doing that. Don’t worry, you’ll understand everything. Everyone will understand.”

“They were dying happy. I was giving them what they didn’t have in real life: warmth, understanding, connections.”

“There are people – and there is biological waste. Those who do not represent any value for society. Who cause or will cause only harm to society. I was cleaning our society of such people.”

The game was originally called Синий кит, Siniy kit in Russia. The death-groups via VKontakte social media website. Before the actual challenge begins, the moderator or death-group collects personal information from the participant, so he cannot quit in the middle. The complete mission will have the 50 days time frame with 50 tasks to complete.

What is Blue whale challenge?

Blue whale challenge is a series of tasks (50 to be exact) to be completed in 50 days. The difficulty level from one task to other task goes on increasing and the final task includes to kill the player on the 50th day. The challenges or tasks will be given on a daily basis. When one completes tasks successfully, the next task will be presented by the death groups.

The game is based on the mutual relationship between the moderators and the victim, so, no one can leave the game in the middle as such. Young minds like college going students have the highly vulnerable mentality. Due to the ongoing technology manifestation, parents or elders doesn’t spare time with the children which makes them looking for an alternative source, who could listen to their thoughts and respond to it.

These moderators, at times, are so choosy that, they will encash this opportunity to draw the attention and make them involved in the suicide game.

Why is it difficult to quit the challenge?

The game usually targets people with vulnerable mentality. Mostly the students and individuals in their teens or early adulthood. Majority of these people start the game just for the heck of trying as they believe that they can get out of the game as and when they wish. However, the whole mission of Blue Whale Challenge is to play with the psychology of the individual. The tasks, which are given in the beginning just distract them from the real world and make them themselves and the people around. To play the next task, you need to send a proof of the completion of the last task to a moderator, who verifies your claims before giving you the next task, this means that it is kind of impossible to try the next levels of the game without completing the first ones.

Even if an individual abruptly thinks of leaving the game, the moderators mentally torture in the name of the family and relatives, because they collect a lot of personal information before the game starts. The torture includes giving the threat to kill the whole family if the player leaves the game in the middle. The vulnerable psychology and fear finally grab the individuals and they seem to have no other choice rather than to continue following the instructions given to them. The final step of the game includes killing the self.

As one can see that, the first task i.e, carving “f57” or Blue whale is the reason for the name. The task does get difficult day by day.

What can parents do? to prevent the disaster:

We cannot suggest you not to buy them smartphones or laptops as they are important to keep in touch with the world. However, you can monitor their usage by installing child-safety applications.

Give them time, talk with them on a timely basis. Ask them is it everything going all right and be nice.

Don’t physically or mentally abuse the child, as they look for the alternative source of comfort.

Keep an eye on their daily activity, if you find anything unusual then, talk with them or take them to the therapist.

Don’t compare one child to another, don’t compare their marks or social abilities. Encourage them to overcome their burden in a sophisticated way.

Instead of using gadgets usage encourage them to read books.

Teach them gadget hygiene and how to use it for the beneficial purpose which improves their personality.

Reality check (cases of death because of Blue Whale Challenge):

Yulia Konstantinova, 15, joined her friend Veronika in jumping from the roof of a 14-storey block of flats

Veronika Volkova, 16, fell to her death on Sunday after being manipulated by sinister social media group

Rina Palenkova’s last selfie before jumping in front of a speed electrical rail

Manoj from Thiruvananthapuram Kerala, hanged himself with a blue whale carving on his hand

Manpreet Sahans a 14-year-old boy from Mumbai India fell from the edge of the terrace

These are just a few cases which went viral. The blue whale challenge has sucked in more than 1000 young lives around the world.

It’s very sad to see that the young minds are easily manipulated to kill themselves. Failed in the exam, don’t have money to spend or don’t dont have girl-friend or boyfried don’t worry. These are the not last resort. There is a life above all.

Take life as a challenge, not the Blue whale challenge. Nothing is greater than the life and don’t make the near and dear once life burden for a mere game.

FYI: We strictly condemn the Blue whale challenge. This article has been published to bring awareness amongst the people.
