Delhi Police Joint Commissioner Anand Mohan ensuring tight security ahead of Independence Day celebration

Joint Commissioner, Anand Mohan said that Delhi Police was ready to tackle any threats ahead of Independence Day. Security measures tightened.

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the Independence Day, Delhi Police has made all the necessary security arrangements and is ready to handle any situation. Joint Commissioner of Police Anand Mohan said on Saturday.

“We have requested all our ‘eyes and ears’ and other stakeholders to be a part of this security apparatus and pass on vital information,” Mohan said in a statement.

Areas with high footfall, parking lots and malls will be under heavy scrutiny.

“The police is prepared for any situation. We are making efforts to make the public area safe for people,” he said.

The Commissioner waded through a highly congested marketplace area in Connaught Place, along with other officials and randomly checked the make-shift stalls near the footpath.

The police also checked the boot of cars entering the marketplace.
