In recent events, Gauhar took to twitter to ask questions about current situation in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Gauhar questions govt’s decision of communication blockade.
She wrote on twitter, “More than 8 million ppl of our OWN country cannot communicate with the rest of the world !! Isn’t the whole point of removing 370 , making Kashmir one with us ??? How is making the entire population of Kashmir incommunicado building that confidence in them to feel ONE ???”
Gauhar had earlier also raised question when government decided to block all kind of communication in Kashmir.
Gauhar had asked, “Only someone who is not being able to get thru to ur loved one for over a week will know what pain is ! Physical, mental , emotional restlessness! I’m sad this Eid ! So so sad ! For every crying heart! Just like mine ! I pray for not just my loved one in Kashmir but for all ! ????”
Gauhar had earlier requested Indian government to restore communication channels. She had written, “Requesting the government of india , to restore the communication facilities of an entire FoRMEr state ! There r families that need to get in touch with each other for finding out their wellbeing! Kids crying ,for they can’t get thru to their parents ,it’s been too many days !”
She also wrote, “Yes Kashmir is used to curfews n lockdowns but why this long ??? Surely they r human beings , surely now if they have no special status, they still citizens , or do they have no rights to basics !?”
She further said, “Pls rejoice as much as one wants , but pls let the civilians have a normal life , if that’s what is proposed anyway , if that’s what ppl r applauding about it being one india , how is it one , if it’s put in a black hole of no communication ! Pls restore normalcy ! Pls ????????”
Currently, govt has announced that schools and colleges will reopen in Kashmir after this weekend. Govt also said that as the situation improves, communication channels will be restored.
