PM Modi said that the role of India’s scientific power will be very important in the height at which India will reach in the next 25 years. PM Modi further said, “Big change is possible with technology. Till 2015, we were at 81st position in the Global Innovation Index of 130 countries, but in 2022 we have reached 40th position. India is on top-3 in startups. Women are also coming forward and taking part in it. Like every field, the participation of women in science has also doubled.”
PM Modi said that in the last 8 years, from governance to economy, many such extraordinary works have been done, which are being discussed today. This increasing participation of women is proof that the society is also progressing and science is also progressing.
The Prime Minister further said that the efforts of science can turn into great achievements only when they leave the lab and reach the land. When its effect is from global to grassroots. When it extends from journals to the ground. When the changes started appearing in real life through research. The PM said that the science of the country should make India self-reliant.
Members participating in this event held on Tuesday discussed increasing the participation of women in education, research and industry. Members attending the Science Congress discussed ways to increase women’s participation in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields, as well as ways to increase their equal status in education, research opportunities, and economic partnerships.
Tukoji Maharaj Nagpur University is celebrating its centenary this year. During this, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and many Union ministers were also present.
