Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Friday, launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu over his photo with pro-Khalistan leader Gopal Chawla and called up for Sidhu’s arrest under National Security Act (NSA).

A Rajya Sabha member of parliament also attacked Sidhu over his photo with Chawla and asked for an investigation on Sidhu by National Investigation Agency (NIA).

During the ground-breaking ceremony at Kartarpur corridor, Sidhu was photographed with Chawla, which was then uplifted by the media. However, Sidhu dismissed all the claimed against him and said, “There were probably five to ten thousand photos clicked of me there. I don’t know who Gopal Chawla is.”

Referring to Sidhu’s statement, Swamy said, “Then you say that I have nothing to do with Khalistan and condemn it. But he should be investigated by NIA and arrested under National Security Act.”

Due to this emerging issue, a war of words flared up on Thursday, when Chawla posted his photograph with Sidhu on his Facebook profile.

Union minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsimrat Kaur also launched attack on Sindhu and termed him a “Pakistani agent”, seeking clarification from Congress party chief Rahul Gandhi.

Kaur, who participated the ceremony in Pakistan at Kartarpur corridor, said, “He has become a Pakistani agent after going there. Rahul Gandhi should clearly state his stand on this.”

Punjab chief minister captain Amarinder Singh had rejected the Pakistani’s invitation for the ceremony and had also asked Sidhu to reconsider his decision of participating in the event.
