As by-polls are fast approaching in the district of Tamil Nadu, the ruling AIADMK invites candidates to contest the by-polls.

With by-polls to be held in the state of Tamil Nadu on May 19 the ruling AIADMK in the state invited candidates to contest the elections. By-polls will be held in the constituencies of Sulur, Aravarkurichi, Thirupparankundram, Ottapidaram. The AIADMK put out its notice in which candidates were asked to collect the application forms on April 21 and submit the application the same day. they were also asked to pay a fees of 25,000. The statement was issued by chief minister K Palaniswamy and deputy chief minister O Paneerselvam.

The DMK‘s election campaign began with its candidate Senthil Balaji campaigning for the Aravakuruchi bypoll in R Ellapatti village. Congress‘ candidate in Karur, Jothimani, DMK’s former ministers KC Palanisamy, Nanniyur Rajendran, M Chinnasamy. Senthil Balaji said, “We have started our campaign for the by-election in Aravakurichi successfully. The DMK will get 60 per cent votes. Stalin will become the chief minister of Tamil Nadu after May 23, when results of all the 22 assembly bypolls will be announced. People have put forth their requests. We will take them to Stalin and try to address them. We have promised the people of Aravakurichi villages to solve water issues by bringing water from the Nanganji river and setting up water connections to the houses.”
