Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Amit Shah on Saturday held a massive roadshow in support of Union Minister Smriti Irani in Rahul Gandhi‘s Amethi parliamentary seat. Voting in Amethi is slated for May 6.

Hailing his government at Centre Shah said, ‘For the first time Amethi is feeling that development is possible here as well. Even after making members of Gandhi family their representative for so many yrs, there were villages which idn’t have electricity. They received electricity only after Modi ji came’, said Shah while slamming ‘Gandhi’ family.

Asserting the confidence of winning the seat, Shah said, ‘Everyone is hopeful. The massive crowd is evidence that people of Amethi have faith in Modi Ji’, He added, ‘Bharatiya Janata Party is winning this time, and will form a government with a massive majority after polls’.

Earlier on May 3, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also visited the district and slammed Rahul Gandhi. Bharatiya Janata Party nominee and Union Minister Smriti Irani in a run-up to the national elections 2019 is taking on Rahul Gandhi who is seeking the fourth term as an MP from the parliamentary seat.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi also visited Amethi to seek votes for her brother and Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi has entered the Lok Sabha for the First time in 2004 contesting from Amethi Lok Sabha Seat. Amethi in the past has been represented by Sonia Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi. Accept the year 1977, and 1998, Amethi has always elected a Congress Nominee.

In 2014 General Elections, Bharatiya Janata Party fielded Smriti Irani against Rahul Gandhi who gave a tough fight to Congress President. The Margin of winning that used to be over 2-3 lakhs in past was reduced to just 1 Lakh in previous polls.

General Elections 2019 is being held across seven phases starting April 11 to May 19. Amethi to elect a new Member of Parliament will poll on May 6 in the fifth phase of polling.

Besides Amethi, Rahul Gandhi is also contesting from Kerala’s Wayanad parliamentary constituency.
