Anand Pal Singh Ravana

For the first 10 days since his alleged encounter, Anand Pal Singh did not have any political support. The protest against his fake encounter and to demand a CBI probe was being run by the leaders of the Rajput community.

However, in a turn of events in last few days, Congress leaders have come in support of Anand Pal Singh. This development has raised the concerns of the Rajasthan Government, which has been facing criticism for allegedly being involved in the encounter of Anand Pal Singh.

Digvijay Singh, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and National General Secretary of Indian National Congress gave a statement couple of days ago, in which he supported the demand for a CBI probe. He also added that Rajasthan Government dragging this announcement further strengthens the doubt over them of being involved in the encounter. He demanded an immediate announcement of CBI probe and said that everyone, be it a normal person or a gangster, does have a right to get proper justice.

Along with Digvijay Singh, Chandresh Kumari, the member of Jodhpur Royal Family and former Congress MP, visited Sanvrad, the village of Anand Pal Singh, where his body is still kept in a deep-freezer. Chandresh Kumari conveyed her condolence to the family of Anand Pal Singh and promised all the possible support.

Local Congress leaders have been alleging the government ever since Anand Pal died on the night of 24th June. The government has not come out in open to talk over this, however, it has been using media as a tool to portray the whole protest in a bad light, so that, the focus turns towards that and the government comes out clean.

Since a few days, a few audio clips have been going around on the internet, which show Rajput community leaders talking to the politicians in state and the centre. Allegedly, the Government has tapped the phones of these leaders and released the clips to the media. This has also come as big criticism for the government as the leaders are now exploring legal options.

The protest and leaders, over the days, have shown that they are not going to give up till their demands are met. The family is demanding a CBI probe of the encounter along with a parole to the brothers of Anand Pal Singh for his cremation.
