The Bhartiya Janta Party eyeing the upcoming Polls in Five states is using all means to reach voters. In the recent data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), The BJP has become the top TV Advertiser replacing Vimal Pan Masala in the recently ended week of November.

The Bhartiya Janta Party followed by Netflix and Trivago, a site for comparing Hotel booking rates.

BJP ranked number one in all TV channels, upgrading itself a spot up from the last week. The Indian National Congress was nowhere in the list of the Top-10 advertiser.  Five Polls who will undergo polling procedure are – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.

The state assembly polls are being viewed as “semi-finals” before the mega Lok Sabha Battle, hence the stakes are extremely high, said a media agency expert who follows political advertising. “That the results of these elections will have an impact on the general elections is the main reason that forced political parties to work out of the box’.

TV Advertisement reaches the maximum number of people – both in rural as well as urban, and naturally, whether it be brands of goods, services or political parties, they reach out to people through television at a high rate compared to other means, said Partho Dasgupta, CEO, BARC India.

This is not the first time that party has used this means of communication to increase its voter base. Before the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, BJP’s campaign on TV on the lines “Janta Maaf Nahi Karegi’ was successful and liked by many.
