Intensifying its hunt in a bid to retain its power at the Centre, Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah chief on Monday directed its workers in UP to reach out Dalit Voters.

Shah who played a crucial role in BJP success in UP state Polls also asked the partymen to galvanise support from those who are the beneficiaries of Various Central Government and its State Government.

Addressing the workers and Office Bearers from 16 Lok Sabha Seats of the Uttar Pradesh’s Awadh region, Shah asked them to reach out the voters that come from marginalized sections.

The meeting lasted for almost three hours. Awadh region of the state includes Lok Sabha Seats of Lucknow, Kanpur Urban and Rural, Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Sitapur, Hardoi, Kannauj among others.

It should be noted that Awadh is the only region in the state where Congress is expected to gain in the mega battle of ballots.

Suresh Chandra Tiwari, president of the BJP’s Awadh region speaking to media said, ‘Party Chief Shah ji told us about the plans for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls 2019 for the region. He told us to focus on the  Dalit voters of the region. He further asked us to reach the families and voters that are the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of BJP’s Central and State government’.

While Amit Shah asserted confidence of winning more seats than 2014.

In 2014 General Elections, BJP led NDA banking on heavy Modi wave bagged 73 seats, while Congress manage to save its two bastions – Amethi and Rae Bareli. Samajwadi Party only secured 5 seats with its Founder Mulayam Singh Yadav contesting from two seats. Mayawati led BSP could not open its account.

While party state chief Mahendra Nath Pandey speaking to reporters said, ‘Party Chief Amit Shah reviewed all the poll strategies, and campaigns in the state. He also gave many suggestions. We are in the direction to gain big than 2014 in the state and will reelect Prime Minister Narendra Modi’.

General Elections are slated to begin from April 11 and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on March 10 declared schedule for General Elections 2019.

Polls in 80 Lok Sabha seats of the state will spread on all seven phases. Most of the Lok Sabha Seats from the Awadh region will go to polls on April 29, the fourth round of polling.

While eights seats – Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Kairana, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar will poll on April 11, the Phase-I of voting.
