AICC media in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala on Sunday said that Narendra Modi-led government is trying to wipe out democracy from India.

Surjewala said the opposition plays a major role in the democracy and trying to wipe out the opposition will completely eliminate democracy from India. He further added that the opposition is like the mirror in democracy, it is showing the public opinion and highlighting the wrong policies of BJP.

These comments of Surjewala comes as a result of recent, MLAs quitting their parties to join BJP and Congress fearing of losing its stand in the nations. The prevailing situation is indicating that ahead of the General Election due in 2019, BJP is trying to get a hold on all the states and make India a one party nation and the opposition is trying hard to maintain its presence in Politics.

Surjewala also criticising the government’s decision of imposing GST said that “The Central government has hit small traders and shopkeepers hard by implementing the GST.” He pointed out the textile industry is almost finished after the implementation of GST and the traders will only be concentrating on filing returns through out the year.

He also attacked the Harayana government saying that it had “failed” to hear the voice of the common man. Referring to the recent affidavit filed by the Central government in the Supreme Court, he said that there were 232 recommendations in the report, out of which the Congress government had implemented 152.
