Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentarians from West Bengal on Friday staged a protest outside the Parliament, in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue, against the atrocities on party workers in the Mamata Banerjee ruled West Bengal.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Bengal’s Howrah Uttar Rupa Ganguly slammed the Trinamool Congress-led West Bengal government.

Talking to ANI, BJP MP said that the ‘situation in the state is still very tense, lakhs of people were not allowed to exercise their right to vote in the panchayat polls’.

She added that the people were left no option but the come on the roads seeking the right to exercise their franchise.

Slamming the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, BJP MP said that she demands the Chief Minister to stop atrocities on the common people of the state. Further training guns towards the Trinamool Congress Supremo, She said there is no democracy left in the state, ‘She might have led many movements in the past, but she doesn’t know how to run a state’, added BJP leader.

BJP leaders, who assembled outside the Parliament, raised slogans against West Bengal government and were seen carrying placards having messages like – ‘Stop Women Torture in West Bengal’, ‘Stop atrocities on BJP workers in Bengal’, among others.

They also raised slogans against Mamata Banerjee-led government and demand to ‘restore democracy in the state’.

However, this is not the first time that the issue of law and order of West Bengal have been raised by the party. BJP, time and again, have been raising the issue even before the national polls.

West Bengal witnessed intense violence in all seven phases of elections and the violence in the West Bengal even continued after the poll verdict.

In the meantime. MPs from left parties also held a protest in the parliament over the amendments in the labor laws. They also raised the concern saying the Union Government is practicing the ‘corporate appeasement’.

Speaking on the issue, CPI-M MP from Tamil Nadu TK Rangarajan accused the government of being fully pro-corporate and gives no second thought for workers and farmers’.
