The Grand Old Party, Indian National Congress, has called a meeting of all its frontal organization to discuss the strategy in a bid to make the birth anniversary of former Rajiv Gandhi, a big event which falls on August 20. The meeting is slated to be held at national headquarters located in New Delhi on Saturday.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary KC Venugopal released a statement issuing directions to all frontal organization to attend the meeting.
The letter issued by KC Venugopal stated, “As you all are aware that every year, the nation celebrates the birthday of our late erstwhile prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on August
20 as Sadbhavana Divas. Rajiv Gandhi as the youngest prime minister of the nation tried to propagate communal harmony, peace and national integrity within India and was known a goodwill ambassador to the world’.
It further added, ‘This year the party has decided to commemorate the birthday celebration of Rajiv Gandhi ji on a larger scale across the country, as this is the 75th birth anniversary”
‘A meeting of all the frontal organizations, Departments and Cells will be held on Saturday, August 3 at 12 pm at AICC office,” it further read.
AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal last week has directed all the state units to reach out to the masses on 75th birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi with his idea of ‘Digital India’.
KC Venugopal also instructed the leaders to hold various other programs such as – Plantation Drives, Blood Donation Camps, Seminars – apart from traditional prayer meetings and floral tributes.
