An opinion poll released by ABP-CVoter has suggested that Congress might have an edge over incumbent BJP in the upcoming assembly elections.

If the elections are to be held today, incumbent Raman Singh government might have to leave the office after 15 years. The opinion poll has predicted Congress to be winning 47 seats in a 90 member assembly, whereas, BJP might just manage 40 seats. BJP had won 49 seats in the 2013 assembly elections in Chhattisgarh.

The narrow gap in vote share might turn tables for either party. Congress is predicted to get 38.9% votes, whereas, BJP seems just behind with 38.2% votes.

Despite the anti-incumbency factor giving an hope to the opposition, BJP has a reason to cheer as Raman Singh still remains the most favored CM candidate. Chhattisgarh will go in the election in 2 stages on 12th and 20th November. Whereas, the results will be announced on 11th December with 4 other states.
