Gearing up for the Lok Sabha Polls which are now weeks away, the Indian National Congress on Wednesday released its second list of 21 Candidates. Out of the total 21 names released, 16 names are from Uttar Pradesh to take on BJP and SPBSP tie-up, while 5 from Maharashtra that will take to BJP-Shiv Sena Alliance.

Party has named Priya Dutt for Mumbai North Central Seat while in Uttar Pradesh, the party has fielded its UP state chief Raj Babbar on Moradabad Parliamentary Seat. Dutt’s name for Mumbai North Central seat came as a surprise as she had earlier opted from the race citing her personal reasons.

  5. Manjari Rahi from Misrikh (SC) Lok Sabha Seat
  6. Ramashankar Bhargava from Mohanlalganj (SC) Lok Sabha Seat
  7. Sanjay Singh from Sultanpur Lok Sabha Seat
  8. Ratna Singh From Pratapgarh Lok Sabha Seat
  9. Sriprakash Jaiswal from Kanpur Lok Sabha Seat
  10. Rakesh Sachan from Fatehpur Lok Sabha Seat
  11. Savitri Phule from Baharaich (SC) Lok Sabha Seat
  12. Parvez Khan from Sant Kabir Nagar Lok Sabha Seat
  13. Kush Saurabh from Bansgaon (SC) Lok Sabha Seat
  14. Pankaj Mohan Sonkar from Lalganj (SC) Lok Sabha Seat
  15. Lalitesh Pati Tripathi from Mirzapur Lok Sabha Seat
  16. Bhagwati Prasad Choudhary from Roberstganj (SC) Lok Sabha Seat

Maharashtra

  1. Nana Patole from Nagpur Lok Sabha Seat
  2. Dr Namdev Dalluji Usendi from Gadchiroli-Chimur (ST) Lok Sabha Seat
  3. Priya Dutt from Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha Seat
  4. Milind Murli Deora from Mumbai South Lok Sabha Seat
  5. Sushil Kumar Shinde from Solapur (SC) Lok Sabha Seat

The party had earlier on March released its first list of 15 candidates – 11 from Uttar Pradesh while 4 from Narendra Modi’s Bastion. Party in its first list maintaining the tradition has fielded its President Rahul Gandhi from Amethi, while United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be on electoral fray from home turf – Rae Bareli.

Election Commission had on March 10 declared schedule for General Elections 2019. Lok Sabha Polls are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting.
