Ahead of the seventh and the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued an emotional message for the people of Varanasi constituency from where he is seeking re-elections and sought their blessings for the victory.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) website released a video on Monday outlining Narendra Modi’s personal and emotional Association with Varanasi and its people. In the video, Narendra Modi underlined that he is a Kashi Vaasi and Kashi is not merely a word for him but an inspiration in terms of spirituality, religion, and culture.

The Prime Minister addressed that Kashi has given him a direction to mold his political and spiritual being in the last 5 years. He also spoke about the presiding Deity of the city Lord Kashi Vishwanath and said that it is a matter of satisfaction for him to serve the people of a city.

While addressing the rally, he outlined the development initiatives taken under the BJP government in the City. He outlined the construction of houses and toilets and the welfare of common people in Kashi that has made life convenient in the City.

Lauding the work done by his government, Narendra Modi said that, “be it the construction of houses of toilets, free LPG electricity connection, Varanasi has presented an ideal example of development in all the sectors in which artisans were able to set global examples for their products through Deendayal Hastkala Sankul.” He added that the construction of two new cancer hospitals provided relief to not only the people of Varanasi but also the people of nearby areas. Every attempt was made for the welfare of traders, businessman, farmers, youth, and the boatman of Kashi.

He also added that the roads and highways were constructed and makeover of Maduadih railway station and multimodal terminal on river Ganga were the major infrastructural changes in the City.

He appeals to the voters to vote for his government if they believe that the development speed should not decrease in Varanasi.

He urged the people of Varanasi to celebrate the festival of democracy with joy and fervor and go out and vote in large numbers. He asked the people to wear traditional clothes and celebrate the day of voting and set a new record that should be the largest in the country.

BJP President Amit Shah also visited Varanasi and hinted that he will conduct roadshows and meetings in Varanasi till May 17.

Varanasi will go to polls in the seventh and last phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 19. The results will be announced on May 23.
