Booth Management and mobilizing voters on the voting days are key to the victory of the Bhartiya Janta Party. Same has been evident in the elections held in the past at various levels. Eyeing another term in the poll-bound Rajasthan BJP has already pulled up its socks to mobilize voters to the polling booth.
Bhartiya Janta Party’s victory will largely depend on the ‘Panna Pramukh’ – The Page In-charge of the Voters’ List. The Main Task of these ‘Panna Pramukhs’ is to bring voters to the polling station who will vote in favor of Bhartiya Janta Party. Panna Pramukh will have a page with names of Sixty registered voters on both sides of a Single Page.
Bhartiya Janta Party has fielded about 15 lakh Panna and Ardh Panna Pramukh (In-charge of half Page). These 15 lakh workers are preparing a path that would lead BJP to Victory in the state.
They have also conducted a survey of the party’s vote bank so that they would know how many votes it will get from the particular polling booth, and where it needs to strengthen its situation.
“On polling day, December 7, our polling agent will be inside the polling booths across the state. We will be in constant touch with the polling agent who will keep us update us how many voters have not cast votes in the booth area so far. We will go to that voter’s house and motivate them to cast votes. On December 6, a day before voting, we will go to the voters’ house in every polling booth and appeal them to vote in favor of the BJP,” said Anand Sharma, Panna Pramukh of Malviya Nagar Assembly area.
BJP had earlier appointed more than 7 lakh Panna Praumkhs across the state and now the plan has expanded and BJP has also appointed Ardh Panna Pramukhs (Incharge of one side of a page of the voters’ list). The Panna Pramukh will be the in-charge of one page of the voter list. While the Ardh Panna Parmukh has been made the in charge of one side of one page of the voters’ list.
Basically, two workers have been appointed for a single page. There are nearly 4.72 crore registered voters in the state. The 15 lakh workers appointed as ‘Panna Parmukh’ and ‘Ardh Panna Pramukhs’ are constantly reaching the voters of their allotted areas. In the last one week, Panna and Ardh Panna Parumkhs have contacted the voters’ home four to five times.
BJP has given the responsibilities of the Panna Pramukhs to the workers of the RSS and its frontal organizations and office bearers of the Residents Societies and Social Organisations and NGOs. RSS to Back BJP to fight anti-incumbency in the state.
“I have been in touch with every voter about five times in my allotted booth area by going to their homes. We are also asking the voters about their problems and have taken a note of that so the problems can be settled later on’ said Sunil Mahato, a BJP Panna Parmukh in Jaipur.
It would be interesting to see what difference these ‘Panna Parmukh’ could create in the state.
The Rajasthan Assembly Elections are due on December 7. The counting of votes will take place on December 11 along with other state assembly elections.
